I'm assuming this in South Africa photographed bird is related to the Lark species...

Very nice, Herman, very well composed.

 

Another bird tip.... watch the shadows.

 

Sun coming in from the left, behind the bird, from the right would have eliminated that beak and head shadow. 

 

Background is very nice, love the colors!
