Well its noon in Memphis and its only 13ºf  or -11ºc burrrgh with a windchill of -4ºf or -20ºc so I ran out to take a few snap shots last night and this morning. Why you ask only a few snap shots well I left my winter coat at work and living in Memphis I only have one heck you might only wear it 3 times a year except this year,     so in the end all I had was my hoodie. It's supposed to drop to 6ºf with a windchill of -15ºf tonight so I will be staying in. Our pool is a skating rink as is our pond I will make a run out there in a bit to break up the ice for our birds they are not used to this and to be honest its not thick enough to walk on so maybe if I break it up the kids around here won't try to walk on it since they have no clue what can happen in icy water.

Not the greatest and I forgot how hard it can be to get the exposure right with snow but these are straight out of my Fuji XE2 and 18-55 f2.8-4 lens. Plus we have a mix of fluorescent lights, halogen lights and some old sodium vapor lights so getting a night time WB right is near impossible.  :P

First time in many years we have had snow fall twice so close together. Something tells me after this weeks cold spell we will not see anymore snow and back to 40's during the day and low 30s at night which is our normal winter temps and weather.

When you can't get the WB right go BW! This is a BW conversion from the camera BW presets by the way not bad.

I feel for you!  We don't get much snow here in south-west British Columbia except for the past two years.

Most people here don't even own snow tires.

Great series, Jim!

I'm a bit jealous re your snow / temperatures...

All we have here is rain & wind with very grey skies.

:) PS. Heard on the news that it is minus 67deg. C in Siberia. Perhaps I need to move!

We had our Dark side of the Moon temperatures for 2 weeks straight recently, I'm glad we're in the 30's now and going into the 40's. Maybe you can stress test your cameras and give us a report  :D

Next couple of days then it will be back to normal in the 40s and 30s at night this will most likely be the last hurrah for the bitter cold.
