#251726 delays between taking long exposures Nikon D7000

Posted by 480sparky on 01 March 2018 - 02:39 PM

Turn off the Noise Reduction feature. That's what is causing the delay.  The camera is taking a 'blank' image to 'map' the noise created by long exposures.  It then used that map to lower the noise in the image.

You can pretty much do the same thing in post.

What are you using as a basis for assuming what his experience is?

I've never seen a Hoganflex in any store.

I have to ask:  where's the beer dispenser?

As I understand it, the producers didn't want to include one as it may appear they endorse driving while under the influence.

Every time I hear Tom talking about how he knows more about running a camera business than Nikon does, I think of Homer being asked to design a car for the family.

I'd say that's $100 too much.

The 2017 Iowa State Fair Photography Salon reception was held earlier this afternoon.  I found out I had all four of my entries accepted this year..... 3 of which garnered an award.

I was one of only two contributors who had all four accepted this year.

#242581 Is there a RAW image editor program that works? (focus issues)

Posted by 480sparky on 10 July 2017 - 02:15 PM

There is NO software that can change the focus if the image is out-of-focus.

#241551 Geting into medium format

Posted by 480sparky on 10 June 2017 - 01:20 PM

I know this is an old thread. I just got an RB67 PRO S and it's been fun. I went to a park and shot two rolls, 20 images. If I had the D4, I would have had over a hundred in the first 20 minutes. But, it was fun, and I don't have the notion that I missed anything. I missed one shot, as I was slow setting it up and the cloud moved off. But still, I'll get better with sets as time goes on. I will get the film back in s week or so. And will see if I did any good shots.

You know what they say.......... pics, or it didn't happen!

#240841 Tokina 100-300 5.6

Posted by 480sparky on 22 May 2017 - 04:17 PM

Wandered into the local brick-n-mortar camera store this morning and spied a mint-condition Tokina 100-300 f/5.6.  My guess (based on the colors used) is late 70's/early 80's.

They let me take it home for a test drive.  Not a bad lens.  Walked around the back yard to test it for sharpness.

I'll need to do some more testing, but if it seems sharp all around I fancy I may just buy it.
