I was hoping that the price was a typo... Cliff

It is actually only 10%,
Unfortunately we do not have the purchasing power of a country like the USA, I would guess Canadian prices are also higher than the USA, even worse in the UK I hear

Well, the tradition in Canada has always been to bend the consumer over.... <_< Nikon Canada loves to practise that as well. However, I live (most Canadians live) very close to the border with the USA. With the INTERNET, you can compare prices and take a trip to the USA to buy cheaper.

B&H is our best bet, their prices are typically excellent, they have a superb reputation, and used to price an item to your door. Never had any issues and any time I have purchased, I have saved more than enough to make it worth while. Now, I am seeing that they have export restrictions on some items. THANKS NIKON CANADA!

We also take lots of day trips to Buffalo, NY to shop. The outlet store parking lots in Buffalo are full, FULL of Canadian cars. And, I have a couple of friends in the Buffalo area so... TO BAD, NIKON CANADA! :lol:

That is a hefty price on that lens!

$10,540 AU
$ 8,999 US
$ 1,541 US more expensive! Yiiikes! You need a friend you can trust to ship to you from the USA!

Check this out, you can buy one in CANADA (if you can find stock) for:

$8 801.57 AU!

Here is the store, they are REPUTABLE! Good chain.

Nice to see a store that is cheaper than B&H that is local! B)

Equipment: D810 | D300 | D50 | B700 | P5000 and some lenses.
