Any Drone users or owners here?

 

Need to know:

 

a. worth It?

 

b. easy to set up and use?

 

c. do you have to register with the FAA?

 

d. costly?

a. worth It? - Yes - but it requires an investment in the learning curve.  The limited competition, special equipment, and unique perspective give you pricing power.

 

b. easy to set up and use? - Yes and no.  It's a completely new skill and tool.  The time required is like l earning to use flash.  Just sticking a flash on your camera is different than properly using flash for portraits, wildlife or groups.  Skilled users can fly a drone from a canoe and catch it in their hand.  Novice users dunk their drone and need insurance.  

 

c. do you have to register with the FAA?  Yes - for commercial use that's your advantage.  It's more than just registering - you need to be certified.

 

d. costly?  Figure starting at $2000 or more plus the time involved.
