....and l've kinda wanted a Mefoto Backpacker Air for a year or so. B&H had them on sale for 79usd, so l ordered it. l have the original backpacker tripod, but it's so fat and stubby when folded. The air is no longer available in solid colors. Just blue or green camo. l got the blue camo. When it arrives l'll post a review.

After watching a few Youtube videos of it, l don't think l would extend the telescoping sections of the center column because that makes it super wobbly.

Good for you, Bill.

Hope it is well constructed. I have a very light / compact Vanguard tripod for similar purposes.

Congrats on your purchase, Bill.

I was going to ask you about stability, but you must have read my mind.  Even so, it's advertised as a travel tripod, so tradeoffs are to be expected.

I'd be interested in your review because it could come in very handy when one wants to travel "light".  :)

l mainly bought this for using with my mirrorless Canon M50. The D7100 and lenses are probably too heavy for something like this.

I appreciate the heads up.  If a D7100 is probably too heavy for it, a D810 will definitely be too heavy.  <_<
